Gabrielle Dudley paintings

Gabrielle is a British artist born in England and has lived in Wales since 1975.  She creates her artworks in her/gallery studio in an old primary school in Cardiganshire.

Her artworks have been displayed in London, Chicago, Philadelphia, Oxford, Norwich and galleries in and around Wales. For the past eight years her work has been on permanent display at the Old School in Capel Cynon. Her work has been acquired by collectors based in various countries including all parts of the UK, New Zealand and North America.

Coming from an agricultural background the countryside influences can be clearly seen in her art. Her prolific canvas work is produced in tandem with her ceramic work and is driven by several different areas of interest: The semi abstracts that fascinate her with their clean lines and overlaying areas of colour, the almost photographic representations celebrating her beautiful surroundings, usually to commission, and the studies she paints for her tiling murals. She also produces a small painting each week executed in an hour or so for her painting class as an exercise in varying aspects of making art.

The artists that Gabrielle admires most include Pablo Picasso, Kandinsky, Cezanne, Leonardo Da Vinci and Sisley.

"There are of course many more amazing artists that I admire and each one has something to contribute towards my work."
